Your First Visit and Beyond

First Visit

Our goal is to make sure your visit with us will be as pleasant and informative as possible.  During your initial appointment, Dr. Supakit will perform an examination and discuss potential treatment options.  This is an important visit as Dr. Supakit will address the orthodontic needs of you or your child.  Please assist us by providing the following information at the time of your first visit:

– X-rays and/or referral forms ( if applicable)

– A list of medications you are presently taking (i.e. heart medications, aspirin, anticoagulant therapy, etc.)

– If you have dental insurance, bring the necessary information. This will save time and allow us to help you process any claims.

– Completed patient registration forms (if possible).

Diagnostic Records & Treatment Planning

If treatment is recommended, your next appointment will be scheduled to obtain diagnostic records.  These records usually consist of orthodontic study models, diagnostic photos and orthodontic x-rays.  Once these records have been taken, Dr. Supakit will review them and determine a specific treatment plan for your orthodontic needs.  Dr. Supakit will also discuss treatment plans, risks, and benefits of the treatment. Once a treatment plan is agreed upon, we will set up the necessary appointments to begin your orthodontic treatment and make financial arrangements with our office.

Check-up and Adjustments Visits

Our patients are usually schedule to come back every 4 to 8 weeks to monitor a progress and make adjustments to braces.  It is important that you will keep all your appointments, follow instructions carefully, eat nutritiously and practice good oral hygiene.  A failure to come to your appointment regularly may result in longer treatment or even damage to your teeth and gingival tissue.  Also please make sure that you or your child continues to see your dentist regularly.

Missed Appointments

If you cannot make it to your appointment, please contact us, or call our office at (510) 581-7851.  We will attempt to reschedule your appointment as soon as possible.  If you reached us after hours, please leave your name, phone number and a brief message on our answering machine.  And we will return your call as soon as possible.
